WalkingSquares 20 through 26
This week I continued to walk for Becky’s #WalkingSquares Challenge.
I walked outside every day except Tuesday, and I am going to have to count going up and down the grocery store aisles that day as my walk for the day. ๐
We had a lot of cloudy days, and my 5-year-old camera couldn’t cope with the lack of good light, but I enjoyed getting out every day and looking around.ย I always noticed something new, even if I couldn’t turn it into a great photo. So I am missing photos for the 22nd, 24th, and 26th below, but that’s okay — I think I will be able to compensate with photos from the very end of the month.
I was really excited to see the Hooded Merganser, because they have only been here once before.
Most of these pictures are not good technically, but they conjure up good memories of enjoyable walks.ย ๐
Squares is all about memories, and these are wonderful daily walks
What a wonderful walk. Isn’t seeing a new bird exciting. I hope you can go back and get a better photo ๐
In this case, I hope the bird comes back to me! They only come through on migration, for a day or two, and not every year. But I might have missed it altogether if not for participating in the WalkingSquares challenge this month. ๐
Lucky you, to see the Mergansers! I’ve only seen one pair, on Clear Lake, and always wished I could see more. At least I have evidence now that they’re around. I do remember the first time I encountered bull netttle; I sat on one. It’s not recommended. At the time, I was afraid I’d been bitten by a snake — it was so much worse than fire ants, I knew they weren’t the culprits.
