Nature Photo Challenge #30: The Moon
I don’t often take pictures of the moon. When I got my current camera, I went outside, took a picture of the moon as it looked from where I was standing, then zoomed in to see what the camera could capture. It was pretty good! Although apparently I had trouble keeping it in frame and it was cropped funny. But I checked “moonshots” off my camera bucket list, and have hardly taken any since.
When Denzil announced “the moon” as a theme, I took a run-of-the-mill picture of the August Super Moon, and then it occurred to me that I should try to be a little more creative. I like these two shots, of the moon with some lacy clouds, and the moon rising above a cloud bank.
Now I will be checking the Photo Challenge post to see what inspiring ideas everyone else came up with!
A good gallery of the moon over the years 🙂
I have the same camera. I like how well that zoom works. Nice shots of different scenes. Some of my favorites are of the thinnest of crescents before and after new moon.
I have never even tried the crescents! Something to add to my “to-capture” list. 🙂
The next 3 mornings are good for crescents if you are up before sunrise. Next week, they will be in the evening right after sunset.
I got a couple of crescents this morning. https://jarphys.wordpress.com/2023/10/10/moon-and-venus-visit-leo/
Beautiful images…I especially love the “spooky clouds” and the “moon with pines and cloud bank”. The colors that you captured are soothing and perfect! Thanks!
